The Head of the Iraqi Supreme Judicial Council signs a Memorandum of Understanding on Judicial Cooperation

The Head of the Iraqi Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Fayeq Zidan, signed a memorandum of understanding with the British Foreign Office for Judicial Cooperation on October 2, 2019 during an official visit to the United Kingdom.

Judge Fayek said that the agreement is the first of its kind signed between the Iraq Supreme Judicial Council and the British Foreign Office, expressing his hope that the agreement would serve as a platform for strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.

Permanent Under Secretary of Foreign & Commonwealth Affairs Sir Simon McDonald affirmed that the signing ceremony of the MOU was the result of lengthy negotiations aimed at reaching a formula that meets the ambitions of the two countries.

The Acting Chargé d’Affaires Joan Hassan along with a number of Iraqi diplomats attended the MOU signing ceremony.
