Passport Application (first time)

The first-time application includes applications for citizens that possess passport type (S) or (H) or (M) or (N).

The applicant (of all ages) must be present in person at the consulate section for electronic fingerprints, and personal photos to be taken. A guardian (father) must attend with minors less than 18 years of age 

The required documents 

  • Original and coloured photocopy of a valid National Civil Status Identity card (both for adults and minors).  The ID must have been issued within the last 20 years, if this is not the case, an original copy of the Electronic Family Registration, certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Iraq.
  • Original and a coloured photocopy of Iraqi Citizenship Certificate. Minors, may use their fathers Citizenship Certificate if they do not possess one.
  • 2 recent colour photographs with a white background.
  • Passport fees £20 (twenty pounds)must be paid in cash
  • The Unified National Card: the unified national card is used in lieu of National  Civil Status Identity card & Iraqi Citizenship Certificate, as well as the Electronic Family Registration provided that it bears a personal photo of the applicant and that it is certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

  • Fill the form from the official website of the General Passports Directorate / http://eservice.iraqinationality.gov.iq/pssservice_ara/start.swe?SWECmd=Start& SWEHo=eservice.iraqinationality.gov.iq
  • Choosing the type of application (first time issuance) 
  • Choose (outside Iraq) in the field of place of issue
  • Enter previous passport information (passport number – type – date of issue- place of issue)
  • Enter only numbers without  symbols in the field of the Iraqi Citizenship Certificate 
  • Upon completion of the form click on  the option in the upper right of the form or the lower right of the form (print preview) in order to generate (bar code) necessary for scanning the application form at the consulate.

Instructions for Renewal (replacement) of the Passport: Renewal or replacements of passport types (G) or (A)

  • Passports may be renewed or replaced if the validity is one year or less or the passport pages are full.
  • If  there is an error in the passport data fields (name – birth – place of birth)
  • In order to renew the passport the applicant (of all ages) must be present in person at the consulate section for electronic fingerprints, and personal photos to be taken. A guardian (father) must attend with minors under 18 years of age 

The required documents 

  • Original and coloured  photocopy of a valid National  Civil Status Identity card (both for adults and minors).  The ID must have been issued within the last 15 years, if this is not the case, an original copy of the Electronic Family Registration, certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Iraq.
  • Original and a coloured photocopy of Iraqi Citizenship Certificate. Minors may use their fathers Citizenship Certificate if they do not possess one.
  • 2 recent colour photographs with a white background.

  • Choose (outside Iraq) in the field of place of issue
  • Enter previous passport information (passport number – type – date of issue- place of issue)
  • Enter only numbers without  symbols/characters in the field of the Iraqi Citizenship Certificate 
  • In the field of the Identification card code, enter the symbol/character of the ID Card which can be found below the card ID number on the top left-hand side, for example (غ-8) or (ب-10) for Northern Governorates use a dot(.) after the symbol for example (ج. ) or (ل. )
  • Upon completion of the form click on  the option in the upper right of the form or the lower right of the form (print preview) in order to generate (bar code) necessary for scanning the application form at the consulate.

Instructions for replacement of a lost Passport: includes lost passport of types (G) or (A)

The applicant (of all ages) must be present in person at the consulate section for electronic fingerprints, and personal photos to be taken. A guardian (father) must attend with minors less than 18 years of age. 

The required documents

  • Provide a police report of the lost passport which must include the name and the passport number.
  • 2 recent colour photographs with a white background.
  • Passport fees £20 (twenty pounds)must be paid in cash
  • Pay the fine fee of £215 in cash in accordance with passport Law number 32 of year 2015
  • The Unified National Card: the unified national card is used in lieu of National  Civil Status Identity card & Iraqi Citizenship Certificate, as well as the Electronic Family Registration provided that it bears a personal photo of the applicant and that it is certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 
  • The applicant’s statement will be taken by the Deputy Consul at the Consulate.
