Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in London Discusses Prospects for Healthcare and Academic Cooperation with the Iraqi Private Sector

His Excellency Dr Salih Husain Ali Al-Tamimi, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United Kingdom, met with Mr Salah Mahdi Karim, Chairman of the Board of Al-Asima Private Hospital in Baghdad, and Dr Mahmoud Al-Saadi, President of Al-Maarif University, together with the accompanying delegation.
The meetings explored ways to strengthen cooperation and partnerships between Iraqi institutions and their counterparts in the United Kingdom, particularly through twinning arrangements between universities and hospitals, training opportunities for Iraqi students, and the exchange of academic and medical expertise. Discussions also addressed ways to facilitate access to specialist expertise and medical professionals and to further develop cooperation programmes between the Iraqi private sector and British healthcare and educational institutions.
The meetings also addressed preparations for the forthcoming medical conference and mechanisms for coordinating with the private sector to engage medical professionals and draw on specialist expertise, with a view to supporting the development of Iraq’s healthcare sector.
The meetings were attended by Dr Kosay Al-Ahmady, Cultural Attaché, and Dr Wissam Al-Freiji, responsible for the Embassy’s Expatriate Affairs Portfolio.
