Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in London Meets Advisory Committee for Reconstruction and Development

His Excellency Dr Salih Husain Ali Al-Tamimi, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United Kingdom, met at the Embassy with members of the Advisory Committee for Reconstruction and Development in London, which comprises a distinguished group of Iraqi experts and professionals from a range of disciplines. The meeting explored ways to draw on their expertise and experience in support of reconstruction and development projects in Iraq.

During the meeting, a number of projects and initiatives were reviewed, alongside mechanisms for connecting Iraqi expertise in the United Kingdom with relevant institutions and authorities in Iraq, with a view to facilitating the provision of studies and consultancy services and promoting the transfer of knowledge and expertise.

His Excellency the Ambassador emphasised the importance of moving beyond traditional forms of engagement with Iraqi professionals abroad towards effective institutional partnerships that contribute to Iraq’s development. Members of the Committee, for their part, expressed their readiness to cooperate with the Embassy and the relevant Iraqi authorities.

The meeting forms part of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in the United Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to engage with Iraqi expatriates and professionals, strengthen communication with them, and consolidate the role of the Iraqi community as an active partner in national development.
