Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in London Receives Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Supplementary Schools in the United Kingdom

His Excellency Dr Salih Husain Ali Al-Tamimi, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United Kingdom, received Mr Sami Faris, Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Supplementary Schools in the United Kingdom and Chief Executive of the British Future Education Foundation.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed a number of educational matters, foremost among them supporting and developing Arab supplementary schools and strengthening Arabic language education for children of the Arab community. They also discussed opportunities for exchanging expertise and fostering cooperation between educational institutions in Iraq and the United Kingdom.

The meeting further addressed preparations for an event marking World Arabic Language Day, entitled “The Arabic Language in Britain”, as well as the organisation of training programmes for teaching and administrative staff and support for Iraqi students studying in the United Kingdom.
