Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in London Meets Iraqi Postgraduate Students at the University of Birmingham

On the sidelines of his visit to the city of Birmingham, His Excellency Dr Salih Husain Ali Al-Tamimi, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United Kingdom, accompanied by Dr Wael Al-Rubaie, Consul General in Manchester, met with a group of Iraqi postgraduate students on scholarship at the University of Birmingham.
During the meeting, His Excellency the Ambassador listened to a detailed overview of the students’ academic and research activities, as well as their concerns, the challenges they face, and their related proposals.
His Excellency the Ambassador emphasised the important role played by Iraqi scholarship students in the United Kingdom and the importance of making the most of the opportunities available to them upon their return to Iraq, particularly by applying the academic and practical expertise they have gained. He commended their efforts to successfully complete their studies within the designated timeframe, and reaffirmed the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in London’s, the Cultural Attaché’s Office’s, and the Consulates General in Manchester and Glasgow’s commitment to following up on their affairs and making every effort, in coordination with the relevant authorities in Iraq, to address their concerns and convey their proposals and views.
The students expressed their thanks and appreciation to the Iraqi diplomatic missions for their efforts in maintaining communication with them and regularly following up on their affairs.
