Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United Kingdom Receives Delegation from the Iraqi Ministry of Defence

The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United Kingdom received a delegation from the Iraqi Ministry of Defence comprising Lieutenant General Staff Hamid Mohammed Kamar, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army for Training, and Major General Staff Ghalib Mohammed Kamar, Commander of the Special Forces Division, on the sidelines of their visit to the United Kingdom to attend the graduation ceremony of Iraqi military cadets at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.

During the meeting, discussions focused on ways to further develop co-operation between the Iraqi Ministry of Defence and the relevant British military institutions in the field of military training. The parties also reviewed the situation of Iraqi students undertaking military studies in the United Kingdom and explored mechanisms to support them, with a view to providing the appropriate conditions for the completion of their education and training.

His Excellency the Ambassador welcomed the delegation and highlighted the depth of Iraqi-British relations and the importance of strengthening bilateral co-operation in the military sphere, particularly in the areas of training and capacity building, in a manner that serves the shared interests of the two friendly countries.

The delegation from the Iraqi Ministry of Defence expressed its gratitude and appreciation to His Excellency the Ambassador for his continued attention to and support for Iraqi students studying in the United Kingdom, commending the efforts undertaken by the Embassy to provide them with the necessary assistance and facilities.

The meeting was also attended by Major General Engineer Sinan Samir Jalal, Iraqi Military Attaché to the United Kingdom, and Brigadier General Staff Abdul Hussein Alak, Deputy Military Attaché.
