Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in London Participates in Panel Discussion on the Future of NATO

The Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in London participated in a panel discussion organised by the Global Strategy Forum entitled “The Future of NATO: Adapting to a New Security Landscape”. The event brought together a distinguished group of senior officials, experts and specialists in the fields of security, defence and international affairs.

The discussion featured Lord Robertson of Port Ellen, Lead Reviewer of the United Kingdom’s 2025 Strategic Defence Review, former Secretary General of NATO and former UK Secretary of State for Defence; Lord Ricketts, former UK National Security Adviser and former Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom to NATO; and General Sir James Everard, former Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe.

The panel examined the future of NATO in light of the rapidly evolving international security environment, the future of transatlantic security cooperation, the strengthening of European defence capabilities, the implications of the war in Ukraine, and the impact of emerging technologies on the future of international security and defence.

The Embassy was represented at the event by Counsellor Mr Miqdad Al-Nouri, and Counsellor Mr Mohammed Hameed.
