Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in the United Kingdom Participates in International Briefing on Diplomatic Work Challenges and Occupational Health

The Embassy of the Republic of Iraq to the United Kingdom participated in the diplomatic health briefing entitled “Serving Abroad, Thriving at Home”, which was held in the British capital, London, with the participation of a number of heads of diplomatic missions, diplomats and representatives of international institutions accredited to the United Kingdom. The event was organised by Cigna Healthcare in cooperation with DIPLOMAT Magazine, which specialises in diplomatic affairs and international relations.
The briefing addressed the most prominent professional, health and social challenges associated with diplomatic work and service abroad, particularly in light of the demands imposed by the international environment, including continuous mobility, professional pressures, and challenges related to adapting to different systems and cultures.
The session also featured a presentation of the findings of a specialised international study on the conditions of internationally deployed personnel, including indicators related to the management of professional stress, sustainability of workplace performance, and the balance between professional responsibilities and personal life. In addition, a number of practices and services relating to international healthcare and institutional support mechanisms for diplomatic missions were reviewed.
The Embassy’s participation in the event forms part of its continued engagement with specialised programmes and discussions related to the diplomatic working environment, in a manner that contributes to strengthening institutional efficiency and enhancing professional performance.
The briefing session was attended by Counsellor Miqdad Al-Nouri, First Secretary Mohammed Hameed, and Second Secretary Bahaa Al-Aissawi
