Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to London Meets Chairman of the Islamic Business Forum

His Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United Kingdom, Dr Salih Husain Ali Al-Tamimi, received Sir Iqbal Sacranie, Chairman of the Muslim Trade Forum and former Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Britain, at the Embassy in London.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed a number of issues of importance to the Muslim community in the United Kingdom and emphasised the importance of unifying efforts and strengthening ties among different communities in a manner that contributes to consolidating humanitarian and cultural relations, preserving the tolerant values of Islam, and promoting positive integration within British society.
The meeting also addressed ways to develop economic and commercial relations between Iraqi and British businesspeople, and explored avenues for cooperation through the Islamic Business Forum by facilitating exchanges of visits between business delegations and companies, as well as participation in economic and industrial events and exhibitions held in both countries.
Sir Iqbal Sacranie is regarded as one of the most prominent and influential Muslim figures in British society. He served for several years as Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Britain and has made significant contributions in support of dialogue, coexistence and communication among the diverse components of British society.
