Military Attaché of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in London Participates in Combined Naval Event 2026

The Military Attaché at the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq to the United Kingdom, Commodore Abdulhussein Alak Al-Maliki, participated in the Combined Naval Event 2026, held in the British city of Farnborough, with broad participation from senior naval commanders, military experts and representatives of leading global defence industries companies.

The conference aims to strengthen international cooperation in the fields of maritime security and naval defence, promote the exchange of expertise and knowledge among naval forces and defence institutions, and discuss the most prominent challenges and threats facing global maritime security. It also provided an opportunity to showcase the latest maritime defence technologies and advanced naval systems.

The event featured the participation of a number of leading international companies specialising in defence and naval industries. It also included panel discussions, specialised workshops and technical exhibitions aimed at supporting strategic partnerships, enhancing the operational capabilities of naval forces, and keeping pace with modern developments in maritime security, unmanned systems and maritime cyber security.

Iraq’s participation in this international event reflects its commitment to strengthening cooperation with international partners and to reviewing the latest developments and technologies in the fields of maritime security and naval defence, in a manner that contributes to supporting and advancing the capabilities of Iraqi military institutions
