Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in London Participates in the Global Partnership Conference 2026

The Global Partnership Conference 2026 concluded its proceedings in the British capital, London, following two days of discussions held on 19 and 20 May 2026, with broad participation from high-level delegations comprising ministers, diplomats, representatives of international organisations, and experts in the fields of development and economics from across the world.
This year’s edition of the conference sought to formulate new and innovative approaches to strengthening channels of international coordination and addressing current economic and geopolitical challenges, with a focus on accelerating the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals through the establishment of cross-border strategic partnerships.
The conference sessions featured extensive discussions on a number of strategic issues, most notably the development of the international cooperation framework, rethinking mechanisms for development assistance, and building balanced and sustainable partnerships between countries of the Global North and the Global South. Discussions also explored ways to enhance sustainable financing, support green transition and renewable energy projects, and address climate change challenges in developing countries.
Participants further examined prospects for cooperation in the fields of innovation and digital infrastructure, as well as the exchange of expertise in artificial intelligence and cyber security in support of the digital economy. In addition, discussions addressed issues relating to food security and the resilience of supply chains amid ongoing geopolitical fluctuations.
The Embassy of the Republic of Iraq to the United Kingdom was represented at the conference by Counsellor Amer Abdulhussein Al-Fatlawi
