Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in London Receives Head of Foreign Relations of the Kurdistan Region at the Embassy

His Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United Kingdom, Dr Salih Husain Al-Tamimi, received at the Embassy Mr Safeen Dizayee, Head of Foreign Relations in the Kurdistan Regional Government, as part of ongoing joint coordination efforts.

His Excellency the Ambassador welcomed the visit and during the meeting, they reviewed the overall political, economic and security developments in the region in general, and in Iraq in particular, as well as the emerging economic challenges resulting from the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and their impact on the situation in the country.

The two sides also discussed developments in Iraqi-British relations and the efforts undertaken by the Embassy to advance them across various fields, in addition to examining mechanisms to strengthen coordination and cooperation between the Embassy and the Kurdistan Region Representation in London.

The meeting was attended by the Representative of the Kurdistan Region in London, Mr Karwan Tahir, a number of officials from the Kurdistan Region’s Office of Foreign Relations, and from the Embassy, Counsellor Amer Abdulhussein Al-Fatlawi.
