Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in London Meets with the Arab British Chamber of Commerce

The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United Kingdom, Dr Salih Husain Ali Al-Tamimi, held a meeting on 20 April 2026 at the Embassy with Ms Rita Massoud, Current Interim Secretary General and Chief Executive Officer of the Arab British Chamber of Commerce, during which a number of economic matters of mutual interest were discussed.

The meeting addressed ways to enhance cooperation in encouraging British investment into the Iraqi market through the organisation of activities, seminars and workshops at the headquarters of the Arab British Chamber of Commerce, with the participation of business leaders and investors from both countries. Discussions also covered mechanisms for cooperation with the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce.

Ms Rita Massoud outlined the principal challenges facing the Chamber in carrying out its mandate, emphasising the importance of the Embassy’s support for its efforts in a manner that contributes to strengthening and developing Arab–British trade relations.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to coordinate efforts between the Embassy, represented by its Economic Section and the Iraqi Commercial Attaché, and the Arab British Chamber of Commerce, alongside preparations for a forthcoming visit to the Chamber’s headquarters and the organisation of joint activities aimed at enhancing economic cooperation between Iraq and the United Kingdom.
