Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in London Meets with Al-Wafaa for Iraq Medical Association

The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to London, Dr Salih Husain Ali Al-Tamimi, received a delegation of physicians from Al-Wafaa for Iraq Medical Association (London), headed by Consultant Dr Jassim Al-Moussawi, with the participation of several members of the Association. The meeting took place within the framework of strengthening cooperation in the health sector and exchanging medical expertise.
During the meeting, discussions focused on mechanisms for transferring the latest medical advancements and advanced expertise from the United Kingdom to Iraq, in a manner that contributes to improving the quality of healthcare services. The parties also explored ways to benefit from the expertise of Iraqi professionals residing abroad and to activate their role in supporting the domestic health sector. In addition, the humanitarian and professional role undertaken by the Association was highlighted. Its membership includes physicians from various countries around the world, contributing to Iraqi health institutions through the provision of modern expertise and practical experience.
His Excellency the Ambassador commended the Association’s efforts in supporting Iraq, underscoring the importance of sustaining and expanding this constructive cooperation in a way that serves the development of the medical sector and enhances the capabilities of Iraqi healthcare personnel.
The delegation has previously visited Iraq on three occasions, during which it provided significant pro bono surgical services to members of the Iraqi Armed Forces during the war against Daesh. It also contributed to the transfer of knowledge and the training of Iraqi medical personnel, thereby strengthening the efficiency of the national healthcare system.
