Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United Kingdom Meets Consultant Surgeon Dr Mohammed Al-Sudani

His Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United Kingdom, Dr Salih Husain Ali Al-Tamimi, received the specialist surgeon, Dr Mohammed Al-Sudani, at the Embassy in London, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen engagement with Iraqi professionals residing abroad.

His Excellency welcomed the guest and commended the distinguished professional standing enjoyed by Iraqi doctors in the United Kingdom. He emphasised that such expertise constitutes an important national asset and a valuable contribution to the healthcare institutions in which they serve, as well as playing a vital role in projecting a positive image of Iraq in international forums.

The meeting included discussions on enhancing cooperation between Iraqi professionals overseas and their counterparts within Iraq. His Excellency underscored the importance of exchanging expertise and successful experiences, and of activating channels of scientific and professional communication to support the development of Iraq’s healthcare sector. He also highlighted the need to harness Iraqi expertise across various specialisations, directing it towards the training and qualification of medical personnel inside Iraq through joint programmes, specialised workshops, and the transfer of modern medical technologies.

This meeting comes within the framework of the Iraqi Government’s approach to supporting and nurturing national competencies abroad, and enabling them to contribute to the transfer of knowledge and expertise back to Iraq, thereby advancing the path of sustainable development. It also reflects the Embassy’s commitment to strengthening ties with members of the Iraqi diaspora and enhancing their national role in serving their country.
