Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in London Holds Cyber Security Awareness Lecture for its Staff

Under the direction of His Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United Kingdom, Dr Salih Husain Ali Al-Tamimi, the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in London organised a specialised cyber security awareness lecture for staff members across all levels within the mission. The lecture was delivered by First Secretary Haider Issam Mohammed, as part of the Embassy’s commitment to strengthening security awareness and safeguarding information and electronic systems.
The lecture, attended by His Excellency the Ambassador and members of the diplomatic and administrative staff, addressed key concepts in cyber security, types of cyber threats and attacks, and highlighted best preventive practices that contribute to the protection of sensitive data and the reduction of breach risks.
The lecture also underscored the importance of adhering to approved security protocols and raising staff awareness, recognising employees as the first line of defence against cyber challenges, particularly in light of the increasing reliance on digital tools in diplomatic work.
His Excellency the Ambassador commended the lecture and the valuable information it provided, while also praising the engagement and participation of staff. He emphasised the importance of continuing to organise such initiatives, which contribute to enhancing institutional performance and fostering a secure working environment.
This lecture forms part of the Embassy’s ongoing awareness and training activities aimed at developing staff capabilities and promoting a secure workplace aligned with international best practice in information security.
