Iraq participates in the proceedings of the (52nd) session of the Advisory Committee of the International Mobile Satellite Organization in London

The Mobile Satellite Organization (IMSO) Advisory Committee holds its 52nd session for the period 16-17 March 2026 at its headquarters in London.

The committee meets regularly to oversee Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) satellite services and the (Long-Range Identification and Tracking) LRIT system.

The committee plays a crucial role in safeguarding maritime safety by ensuring the reliability and availability of GMDSS services.

It is worth noting that Iraq is one of the members of the Advisory Committee among the 44 Member States of the International Mobile Satellite Organization (IMSO).

Iraq was represented by First Secretary Alyaa Ihsan Alsayegh who oversees the International Organizations and Multilateral Relations portfolio at the Political Division in the embassy and the Iraqi Maritime Attache Captian Mazin Alkaabi
