Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United Kingdom Meets Delegation from the Islamic Dawa Party Office in London

His Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United Kingdom, Dr Salih Husain Ali Al-Tamimi, received Mr Sadiq Habl Al-Mateen and Mr Abbas Al-Baghdadi from the Islamic Dawa Party Office in London, at the Embassy in London. The meeting formed part of the Embassy’s ongoing engagements with members of the Iraqi community in the United Kingdom and with representatives of political, cultural and social organisations and offices.

At the outset of the meeting, His Excellency the Ambassador welcomed the delegation and emphasised the important role played by members of the Iraqi community in the United Kingdom across various fields. He noted that they constitute a key pillar in supporting the Embassy’s activities and in strengthening its cultural and social engagement with Iraqis in the United Kingdom. He also highlighted the importance of joint work and the exchange of ideas in a manner that contributes to the development of political, cultural and social initiatives and to strengthening ties among members of the Iraqi community.

His Excellency further underscored the significant role played by intellectual elites and community organisations in promoting cultural awareness and encouraging positive integration into British society, while preserving the national identity and cultural values of the Iraqi community.

The members of the delegation expressed their appreciation for the warm reception, affirming their willingness to cooperate and coordinate during the coming period and to exchange views with His Excellency the Ambassador on issues concerning the Iraqi community in the United Kingdom.

The meeting was also attended by Dr Wissam Al-Freiji, Head of the Expatriates Affairs at the Embassy.
