Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United Kingdom Meets Delegation from the Iraqi Communist Party Organisation in London

His Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United Kingdom, Dr Salih Husain Ali Al-Tamimi, received Dr Ridwan Al-Wakeel from the Iraqi Communist Party Organisation in London, at the Embassy, accompanied by his delegation, as part of the Embassy’s ongoing engagement with members of the Iraqi community in the United Kingdom.

During the meeting, discussions focused on the role played by intellectuals from within the Iraqi community in the United Kingdom. His Excellency the Ambassador noted that the community includes a wide range of distinguished professionals and highly qualified academic and cultural figures who contribute effectively to serving society and strengthening the Iraqi presence across various fields.

The meeting also addressed the importance of promoting constructive dialogue among the community’s diverse groups. In this context, discussions touched on the launch of an initiative aimed at fostering calm and responsible dialogue in a manner that enhances trust and mutual understanding among members of the Iraqi community from different sects and ethnic backgrounds. Both sides emphasised that the Iraqi community in the United Kingdom represents a rich and diverse spectrum that contributes to reinforcing the values of cooperation, harmony and joint action in ways that serve Iraq and promote its positive image.

The members of the delegation expressed their appreciation for the warm reception, affirming their commitment to continuing communication and coordination with the Embassy in support of cultural and social initiatives and in strengthening the bonds among members of the Iraqi community in the United Kingdom.

The meeting was also attended by Dr Wissam Al-Freiji, Head of the Expatriates Affairs at the Embassy.
