Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in London Meets with the Chair and Members of Turathna Association

His Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United Kingdom, Dr Salih Husain Ali Al-Tamimi, received Ms Dhamyaa Al-Saffar, Chair of the Turathna Association, along with a number of its members, at the Embassy in London.

During the meeting, the delegation introduced the Association and outlined its objectives, which focus on reviving Iraqi heritage, preserving Iraqi cultural identity in the United Kingdom, and passing on Iraq’s rich civilisational legacy to the younger generations of the Iraqi community.

The discussion also addressed the history of the Association’s establishment and the motivations behind its founding, as well as a review of its most prominent cultural and community activities aimed at highlighting Iraq’s cultural heritage and promoting greater awareness of it within social and cultural circles.

Both sides further explored prospects for future cooperation between the Embassy and the Association through the organisation of joint events and initiatives dedicated to celebrating Iraq’s history and strengthening awareness among members of the Iraqi community, particularly younger generations, in regards to the importance of their historical and cultural heritage.

His Excellency the Ambassador expressed his appreciation for the Association’s efforts to preserve and promote Iraqi heritage, reaffirming the Embassy’s support for cultural initiatives that contribute to strengthening the national identity of the Iraqi community in the United Kingdom.
