The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United Kingdom Meets with British MP Sadiq Al-Hassan

Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United Kingdom, Mr. Mohammed Jaafar Al-Sadr, met with British MP Sadik Al-Hassan (of Iraqi origin) from the Labour Party at the British Parliament on Thursday 12th December 2024.

The meeting was held as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between Iraq and the United Kingdom, focusing on issues of mutual interest. The two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation in political, economic, and cultural fields, as well as regional and international matters of relevance.

Ambassador Al-Sadr reviewed the efforts made by the Iraqi government to promote stability and development, stressing the importance of supporting the partnership with the UK through the formation of an Iraqi-British Parliamentary Friendship Committee to further the shared interests of both countries.

MP Sadik Al-Hassan praised the historic ties between the two friendly countries, emphasizing his commitment to working through the British Parliament to support Iraq’s efforts in achieving development and stability, and fostering dialogue between the two sides.

The meeting concluded with an agreement on the importance of continuing communication and joint work to strengthen bilateral relations and support priority issues for both countries, as well as the pursuit of forming a Parliamentary Friendship Committee between the two countries.
