Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, during his meeting with his British Counterpart, Emphasizes The Importance of Expanding Relations Between the two Countries at Various Levels
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein met with Mr. James Cleverly in Bahrain’s capital, Manama where the 18th Manama Dialogue is taking place.
Mr. Hussein stressed the need to activate Iraqi-British relations at various levels, including (economic and financial), calling on British investment companies to invest in Iraq, praising the financial stability that our country is going through at the present time, and discussing the status of investment companies in Basra.
During the meeting, they also discussed ways to improve bilateral relations between the two countries, and the importance of consultation on issues of common concern.
The two parties discussed Iraq’s leading role in the region in combating terrorism, the terrorist organizations, which pose a direct threat to security and stability in Iraq and the region. The British Foreign Minister affirmed the British government’s commitment to continue supporting the Iraqi government in the economy, security, combating terrorism, and in the fields of renewable energy investment and combating the effects of climate change. He expressed his government’s desire to expand bilateral relations between the two countries and develop them in a way that serves common interests
