he Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United Kingdom receives a delegation from the Iraqi Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities
As part of the preparations and arrangements made by the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq to the United Kingdom, in coordination with the Iraqi Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities to reopen the Iraqi Cultural Center in the British capital (London), and within the Iraqi government’s direction towards cultural openness to various peoples, the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United Kingdom, Mr. Mohammad Jaafar Al-Sadr, received a delegation from the Iraqi Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, which included: Director General of the House of Cultural Affairs (Advisor to the Prime Minister for Cultural Affairs) / Dr. Aref Hamoud Al-Saadi, and Director General of the Department of Public Cultural Relations / Prof. Dr. Alaa Abu Al-Hassan Ismail, and a number of ministry employees at the embassy on Tuesday 01/10/2024.
The meeting discussed developing an urgent coordination and organisational plan, and preparing a comprehensive study of the requirements for reopening the Iraqi Cultural Center in London. Ambassador Al-Sadr explained that the embassy has sought to highlight the civilisational and cultural status of Iraq in the presence of a large number of members of the Iraqi community in the United Kingdom, including scholars, thinkers, researchers, academics and intellectuals, in a manner which rightfully reflects with the important role of Iraqi culture and its influence on human culture.
Members of the visiting delegation praised the role of the embassy in strengthening cultural relations between Iraq and Britain during the past period, noting the keenness of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities to reopen the Iraqi Cultural Centre soon.
