Advisor to the Prime Minister for Investment Affairs meets the Executive Director of the International Forum of Sovereign Wealth Funds (IFSWF)

As part of his visit to the United Kingdom, the Advisor to the Prime Minister for Investment Affairs/Executive Director of the Iraq Fund for Development, Mr. Mohammed Al-Najjar, met with the Executive Director of the International Forum of Sovereign Wealth Funds (IFSWF), Mr. Duncan Bonfield, and the Director of Strategy and Communications at the Forum, Dr. Victoria Barberry, on Wednesday, 15/05/2024.

During the meeting, they discussed the possibilities of cooperation between the Iraq Fund for Development and the Forum, where Mr. Al-Najjar stressed the Fund’s desire to benefit from international expertise in this field in order to promote foreign investments in Iraq and in various sectors.

Mr. Bonfield praised the step of the Government of Iraq to establish the Development Fund, and expressed the readiness of the Forum to provide advice and cooperation in light of the priorities set by the Fund.

Finally, a mechanism was agreed to allow Iraq to be a member of the aforementioned forum.

The meeting was attended by the representatives of the embassy: Counsellor Ahmed Mohamed Khaled, and First Secretary Mohamed Hamid Ahmed.
