Chargé d’ Affaires a.i. met with Iraqi Academic Prof. Dr. Jasim Mohammed Salman Al-Tamimi

The Chargé d’Affaires a.i., Counselor Dr. Hudayfa Zead Mahmoud, received, on Thursday, 13 August 2026, Iraqi academic Professor Dr. Jasim Mohammed Salman Al-Tamimi, Dean of Iraq University College in Basra Governorate, as part of his official visit to Malaysia to explore prospects for scientific and academic cooperation with prestigious Malaysian universities.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways for further develop cooperation bilateral between Iraqi academic institutions and their Malaysian counterparts including, expanding postgraduate study programs, advancing scientific research and development, facilitating academic exchanges and visits for faculty members and students, and strengthening coordination in the fields of academic publishing and joint scholarly evaluation.

The meeting was attended on behalf of the Embassy by Counselor Ahmed Ghanim AbdulJabbar, while Iraq University College was represented by Dr. Abdul Wahab Issa Hamza, Director of the Department of Scientific Affairs and Cultural Relations.
