Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Kuala Lumpur Commemorates the Victims of the Spiker Massacre with a Moment of Silence and Mourning.

The Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Kuala Lumpur commemorated, on 12 June 2026, the victims of the Spiker Massacre by organizing a moment of silence and mourning. The commemoration concluded with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah in prayer for the souls of the martyrs and in remembrance of their enduring sacrifices. The event was attended by members of the Embassy and the Cultural Attaché Office, during which the sacrifices of the martyrs, victims of this terrorist crime perpetrated by terrorist groups.

On this occasion, the Chargé d’Affaires a.i., Ahmed Ghanim Abdul Jabbar, emphasized that the memory of the Speicher Massacre will remain deeply engraved in the conscience of the Iraqi people. He noted that the pure blood of the martyrs will continue to symbolize national unity and steadfastness in the face of terrorism. He further stated that, despite the enormity of this tragedy, it contributed to strengthening the values of national cohesion and reinforcing the determination to confront challenges.

The Chargé d’Affaires a.i. also affirmed that Iraq, while honoring the memory of its martyrs, continues to move confidently toward the future, drawing strength from its rich historical legacy and the unwavering will of its people. He stressed that the sacrifices of the martyrs will remain a guiding beacon for future generations in building a safe, stable, and prosperous homeland.

The commemoration concluded with prayers for mercy upon the martyrs and a renewed affirmation of the commitment to continue the path of development and service in faithful recognition of their sacrifices and in perpetual remembrance of their legacy in the conscience of the nation.
