Chargé d’Affaires Offers Condolences on the Passing of Former Algerian President Liamine Zéroual
The Chargé d’Affaires a.i., Mr. Ahmed Ghanim Abduljabbar, extended official condolences on 1 April 2026 to the Embassy of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria in Malaysia, following the passing of former Algerian President, the late Mr. Liamine Zéroual.
The condolences were conveyed during a visit by the Chargé d’Affaires to the residence of the Algerian Ambassador in Kuala Lumpur, where he expressed his deep sorrow and heartfelt sympathy, extending sincere condolences to the Government and people of Algeria, as well as to the family of the deceased. He reaffirmed the solidarity of the Republic of Iraq with Algeria during this difficult time and the depth of the fraternal relations between the two countries.
In turn, the Algerian Ambassador to Kuala Lumpur, Mr. Abdelhafid Bounour, expressed—during a telephone conversation with the Chargé d’Affaires—his appreciation for this gesture, describing it as a true reflection of Arab solidarity in times of hardship, and conveying his gratitude to the Government of Iraq and its Embassy in Kuala Lumpur for their fraternal support.
