Chargé d’Affaires Meets Brunei Representative to Strengthen Bilateral Relations

The Chargé d’Affaires a.i., Mr. Ahmed Ghanim Abduljabbar, met on 1 April 2026 with Mr. Aizul Hakim bin Pehin Okip Dato Seri Setia Haji Suyoi, Representative of the High Commission of Brunei Darussalam and Political Officer, at the Commission’s headquarters in Putrajaya.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed bilateral relations and exchanged views on developments in the Middle East and their regional and international implications. The Iraqi position was highlighted, emphasizing the need to halt the war, prioritize diplomatic solutions, prevent further escalation, and avoid serious repercussions on the global economy, as well as the importance of ensuring sustainable regional and international stability.

For his part, the Bruneian representative stressed the importance of maintaining continuous communication with the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Kuala Lumpur, commending the Chargé d’Affaires’ commitment to holding regular meetings aimed at strengthening bilateral relations. He also extended an official invitation to visit the capital, Bandar Seri Begawan.
