Chargé d’Affaires Meets with the Management of HSS Engineering Sdn. Bhd to Enhance Engineering and Investment Cooperation.

The Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Kuala Lumpur, Mr. Ahmed Ghanim Abdul Jabbar, met with the senior management of HSS Engineering Sdn Bhd on 4 March 2026. The meeting was attended by:

  • Chief Executive Officer, Ir. Sharifa Azlina Bt Raja Kamal Pasmah.
  • Executive Vice Chairman, TAN SRI Ir. Kuna Sittampalam.
  •  Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Anand Sharvanandah.
  • Project Manager Mr. Bassam Mansour.

The meeting took place at the company’s headquarters, where both sides exchanged cordial greetings and expressions of appreciation. In his remarks, the Chargé d’Affaires underscored the Embassy’s keenness to strengthen frameworks for future cooperation between the company and Iraqi institutions, from both the public and private sectors, particularly in major investment projects and engineering initiatives related to infrastructure development in Iraq.

Mr. Bassam Mansour delivered a brief presentation on HSS, outlining the company’s establishment, its regional and international partners, and its most prominent projects. He made particular reference to the Baghdad Metro Project and the expressway project linking the governorates of Najaf and Karbala, implemented in coordination with the relevant Iraqi governmental authorities. He also highlighted the stages of progress, key features of both projects, and the main milestones and meetings held with the competent Iraqi authorities.

For his part, the Chargé d’Affaires commended the company’s efforts in fulfilling its official commitments with the Iraqi side and the quality of the engineering and technical services provided. He reaffirmed the Embassy’s readiness to support the company and facilitate its tasks in coordination with the competent Iraqi authorities, while promoting continuous engagement in the service of bilateral relations between Iraq and Malaysia.

In turn, the management of HSS renewed their appreciation to the Chargé d’Affaires for his visit and engagement, emphasizing the importance of sustaining regular meetings and ongoing cooperation to achieve the shared objectives.
