Chargé d’Affaires a.i. Participates in Seminar on Water and Sanitation Sustainability.

The Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Kuala Lumpur, Counsellor Ahmed Ghanim Abduljabbar, participated on 24 February 2026 in a scientific seminar organized by the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates, entitled “Water and Sanitation Sustainability.”
The seminar focused on advancing water sustainability to ensure the optimal use of water resources, as well as establishing effective frameworks for the implementation of necessary wastewater treatment measures, serving humanity and the global public good while minimizing associated environmental and health impacts.
The event was attended by members of the Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, including its official representative, alongside ambassadors, diplomats, representatives of international institutions, energy companies, as well as  researchers and specialists in the water sector.
Guests were received by Mr. Aamer Al teneiji, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates, who delivered remarks on behalf of H.E. Dr. Mubarak Saeed Al Dhaheri, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of strengthening international cooperation to address water-related challenges and supporting joint initiatives to achieve water security and sustainable development.
The representative of the
Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation also highlighted the need to intensify international efforts to ensure the optimal and sustainable use of water resources. She further described the forthcoming international water conference, scheduled for December of this year under the joint presidency of the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Senegal, as a successful model for achieving the desired objectives in this field.
The seminar featured participation from representatives of various international entities and leading companies in the field of water sustainability, presenting the latest initiatives and technologies in water resource management and sustainable energy, and their role in supporting the Sustainable Development Goals globally.
Discussions also covered preparations for the 2026 United Nations Water Conference, previously mentioned, which constitutes an important international platform to strengthen joint action and develop sustainable solutions to address the challenges of water scarcity.
