Minister of Agriculture and Food Security of Malaysia Visits the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Kuala Lumpur.

The Minister of Agriculture and Food Security of Malaysia, H.E. Mohamad bin Sabu, visited the premises of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Kuala Lumpur on 13 February 2026. He was received by the Chargé d’Affaires a.i., Counsellor Ahmed Ghanim Abduljabbar. The visit aimed to further enhance prospects for bilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries. The meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere that reflected the depth of relations between the Republic of Iraq and Malaysia.

The Chargé d’Affaires a.i. welcomed the Malaysian Minister, commending the level of bilateral relations and the steady progress achieved in economic and technical cooperation, particularly in vital sectors related to energy.

For his part, H.E. Mohamad bin Sabu expressed his appreciation for the warm reception, reaffirming Malaysia’s keenness to expand avenues of cooperation with Iraq and to exchange expertise in the fields of agricultural production development, strengthening food supply chains, and benefiting from Malaysia’s experience in modernizing and enhancing the efficiency of the agricultural sector.

Both sides underscored the importance of building upon the historical ties between the two countries and working towards opening new horizons of cooperation that serve mutual interests and contribute to sustainable development and the strengthening of food security at both the national and regional levels.
