Chargé d’Affaires a.i. Meets Iraqi Businessman Miqdad Hussein to Discuss Enhancing Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Iraq and Malaysia

The Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Kuala Lumpur, Counsellor Ahmed Ghanim AbdulJabbar, met with Iraqi businessman Miqdad Hussein, a member of the Arab–Malaysian Chamber of Commerce, on 13 January 2026, within the framework of ongoing efforts to broaden the horizons of economic and investment cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to strengthen partnerships between Malaysian and Iraqi business communities and companies, with a view to promoting trade and investment exchanges, drawing on accumulated expertise and successful experiences in regional and international markets.

The Chargé d’Affaires a.i. highlighted the steady progress in Iraqi–Malaysian relations, particularly in the economic and investment sectors, including investments in the energy field, and affirmed the Embassy’s support for initiatives that contribute to further linking the business communities of both countries.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides exchanged expressions of appreciation and agreed to maintain close communication and coordination in a manner that serves mutual interests and enhances future partnerships between the Republic of Iraq and Malaysia.
