Chargé d’Affaires a.i. Offers Condolences on the Passing of the Chief of Staff of the Libyan Armed Forces

The Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Kuala Lumpur, Counsellor Ahmed Ghanim AbdulJabbar, on Monday, 29 December 2025, offered condolences to the Embassy of the State of Libya in Malaysia following the tragic passing of the Chief of Staff of the Libyan Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Mohamed Al-Haddad, along with a number of his accompanying personnel.

The condolences were conveyed during a visit to the Libyan Embassy in the Malaysian capital, where the Chargé d’Affaires a.i. expressed his profound sorrow and deep sadness over the loss of Lieutenant General Al-Haddad and his companions, who perished in a plane crash near the Turkish capital, Ankara. He extended his heartfelt sympathies to the Libyan Government, the Libyan people, and the families of the victims.

The Chargé d’Affaires a.i. affirmed the solidarity of the Republic of Iraq with Libya in this grave tragedy, emphasizing the depth of the fraternal relations that bind the two brotherly countries.

For its part, the Libyan Embassy in Kuala Lumpur highly appreciated this visit, considering it a reflection of the spirit of Arab solidarity in times of adversity, and expressed its gratitude and appreciation to the Government of the Republic of Iraq and the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Kuala Lumpur.
