Iraqi Chargé d’Affaires in Kuala Lumpur Receives Iraqi Winners of the World Mental Arithmetic Championship Held in Malaysia
The Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Kuala Lumpur, Counselor Ahmed Ghanim AbdulJabbar, received a delegation from the Creativity Development Center, along with Iraqi students, winners of the World Mental Arithmetic Championship, held in Malaysia on Sunday, 21 December 2025, in the city of Shah Alam. The reception was attended by a number of Embassy staff members and the students’ families.
The reception took place at the Embassy premises in Kuala Lumpur on Monday, 22 December 2025, during which the Chargé d’Affaires expressed his pride and appreciation for the remarkable achievement accomplished by the Iraqi students. He emphasized that this outstanding success reflects the bright image of the capabilities Iraqi youth and contributes to strengthening Iraq’s positive presence in international scientific forums.
The delegation was headed by Dr. Dhyaa Ali Algharawi, Director of the Creativity Development Center, and included Engineer Noor Hameed Kadhim, team supervisor, and Engineer Sarah Nabil Khalil, team coach. The delegation expressed their appreciation for the Embassy’s support and interest in the students’ achievements, noting that such recognition serves as an incentive to continue developing Iraqi scientific talents.
The World Championship witnessed the participation of students from 24 countries from around the world, including Malaysia, Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Thailand. The Iraqi team achieved first place in terms of the total number of awards across multiple categories.
In his remarks during the reception, the Chargé d’Affaires affirmed that the Embassy will continue to support scientific and educational initiatives, stressing that such achievements represent a message of hope and determination, and serve as a clear evidence that investing in human potential is a fundamental pillar for building a prosperous future for Iraq.
