The Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Kuala Lumpur marked the anniversary of Victory Day and the liberation of Iraqi territory from Daesh terrorist gangs during an official ceremony chaired by the Chargé d’Affaires a.i., Counselor Ahmed Ghanim AbdulJabbar, with the participation of the Embassy’s staff, the Cultural Attaché Dr. Abduljaleel Mohammed Majeed, and members of the Cultural Attaché’s Office.
In his address on the occasion, Counselor Ahmed Ghanim AbdulJabbar affirmed that 10 December represents a defining moment in Iraq’s modern history, as it is the day on which the nation regained its land and dignity, and its people stood united in the face of one of the darkest waves of terror. He paid tribute to the sacrifices of the martyrs and the heroism of the fighters whose blood wrote the epic of liberation, offering the world an enduring lesson in resilience and national will.
The Chargé d’Affaires a.i. also highlighted the role played by Iraqi embassies around the world in documenting the meaning of this victory, conveying the truth of what occurred to the international community, and underscoring that Iraq fought in defense of its humanity and on behalf of the world at large.
