The Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Kuala Lumpur Participates in the “Malaysia Madani” Program to Support Development and Government Reform

The Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Kuala Lumpur, represented by the Chargé d’Affaires a.i., Minister-Counsellor Ahmed Ghanim Abduljabbar, participated in the activities of the Malaysia Madani Program — the official governmental action plan of the current Malaysian administration led by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. The event was held on 7 December 2025 in the administrative capital, Putrajaya.

The program witnessed the participation of senior government and parliamentary officials, including the two Deputy Prime Ministers:

Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Rural and Regional Development.

Dato’ Sri Fadillah Yusof, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation.

The event was also attended by ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Kuala Lumpur.

At the outset of the program, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim delivered a speech in which he praised the efforts made by his governmental team in the precise and well-executed implementation of the Madani Government Work Program, which contributed positively to strengthening political stability and advancing well-structured reform measures across key sectors, most notably the economy and energy.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the outcomes of these efforts, including:

  • Increased economic growth rates.
  • Enhanced stability of the national currency and trade performance.
  • Reduced poverty levels.
  • Improved efficiency of state institutions through a strong commitment to integrity and good governance.

He also addressed his recent visit to Sabah in southern Malaysia, reaffirming the government’s steadfast commitment to taking firm and decisive steps to ensure the country’s prosperity and uphold its international standing.

The two Deputy Prime Ministers further outlined the key achievements of the Madani Government during the previous period, underscoring the government’s commitment to comprehensive development and political stability in a manner that serves the interests of the Malaysian people and strengthens the country’s position across vital sectors.
