A Delegation from the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Kuala Lumpur / Consular Section Concludes an Official Visit to the Kingdom of Thailand to Enhance Services for the Iraqi Community

A delegation from the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Kuala Lumpur / Consular Section conducted an official visit to the Kingdom of Thailand from 2 to 4 December 2025, lasting three days.

The purpose of the visit was to complete the required consular transactions for members of the Iraqi community residing there, as the Embassy regularly dispatches official delegations for this purpose.

Members of the Iraqi community expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the consular delegation for its cooperation and the quality of services provided. The delegation also held meetings with several members of the community to inquire about their conditions and identify their needs in order to provide the necessary assistance to the extent possible.

What distinguished this visit from previous ones was that the head of the delegation, Third Secretary Ahmed Mohammed Khalafallah, after prior coordination with the relevant Thai authorities, visited Samut Prakan Prison to meet with two Iraqi detainees, check on their health conditions, provide logistical support, ensure communication with their families, and hold a meeting with the prison administration — an effort that was well received by the detainees, their families, and the prison administration alike.

The delegation also affirmed the continued coordination between the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Kuala Lumpur and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand to follow up on the situation of Iraqi detainees in the Kingdom.
