The Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Kuala Lumpur Organizes a Forum for Prominent Figures and Professionals

On Saturday, 29 November 2025, the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Kuala Lumpur organized a forum for prominent figures and Iraqi academicians and professionals of the Iraqi community in Malaysia, as part of its efforts to strengthen engagement with the community and maintain strong ties with its members residing in the country.

Participants from among the prominent figures and professionals expressed their appreciation for this cultural and social initiative, valuing the Embassy’s commitment to establishing sustainable channels for dialogue and communication, affirming their happiness with this platform, which provides an opportunity to present ideas, exchange expertise, and develop mechanisms for joint cooperation.

The Embassy, for its part, welcomed the attendees and reaffirmed the importance of maintaining continuous engagement with the community, emphasizing that its doors are always open to all Iraqis, and that it remains committed to providing a supportive environment for all initiatives related to creativity, research, and development.

In his remarks during the forum, the Chargé d’Affaires a.i., Counselor Ahmed Ghanim Abduljabbar, praised the presence of the prominent figures, expressing the Embassy’s appreciation for their scientific and professional contributions. He also reaffirmed the Embassy’s continued support for the community and its readiness to provide the necessary facilitation to serve Iraqis and address their needs.

For his part, the Cultural Attaché, Dr. Abduljaleel Mohammed Majeed, commended the vital role played by Iraq’s prominent figures and professionals in Malaysia, stressing the Attaché’s commitment to supporting the academic and cultural creativity of the community. He also emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation between Iraqi academic institutions and their Malaysian counterparts in a manner that strengthens the presence of Iraqi expertise on the international stage.

The gathering also included extensive discussions on matters related to the Iraqi community and ways to enhance its academic and societal presence in Malaysia, in addition to reviewing pioneering initiatives that could contribute to strengthening ties between the Embassy and the community, thereby promoting Iraq’s image and fostering greater cooperation and integration.
