Acting Chargé d’Affaires Receives Delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The Acting Chargé d’Affaires, Counselor Ahmed Ghanim Abdul Jabbar, welcomed a delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, led by Dr. Lubna Khamis Mahdi, Director General of the Department of Research and Development. The delegation also comprised Dr. Sundus Ali Khalifa, Deputy Director General of the Administrative and Financial Department; Dr. Jwan Abdul Zaidan, from the Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations; and Ms. Iman Tareq Ali, Head of the Investigation Section at the Directorate of Audit and Internal Control. Also present at the meeting were Associate Professor Dr. Abdul Jaleel Mohammed Majeed, Cultural Attaché in Kuala Lumpur, along with staff members of the Cultural Office.

The Acting Chargé d’Affaires extended a warm welcome to the delegation, wishing them every success in carrying out their official mission in Kuala Lumpur. He highlighted the prospects for strengthening cooperation between the Embassy and the Cultural Office, particularly in academic engagement, including the participation of visiting Iraqi universities in Malaysia to sign partnership agreements with their Malaysian counterparts. Among these are the partnership between Imam Jaafar Al-Sadiq University and Sunway University, as well as the agreement between the University of Anbar and the University of Malaya (UM). He further noted the recent progress achieved in various dimensions of Iraqi – Malaysian relations.

For her part, Dr. Lubna Khamis Mahdi expressed her sincere appreciation to the Acting Chargé d’Affaires for the warm hospitality and generous support extended by the Embassy to both the Cultural Office and the Iraqi School. She also conveyed her hopes for continued success in enhancing the Embassy’s role, which she affirmed will further energize and elevate the growing partnership between Iraq and Malaysia, now witnessing remarkable progress and prosperity.
