Meeting of the Chargé d’Affaires a.i. with the Head of the Swiss Consular Department

On August 13, the Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Bern, Dr. Mohammed Jawad Mahdi, met with the Head of the Consular Department at the Swiss Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Marianne Jenni, at the Consular Section building, in the presence of her assistant and the official responsible for the Iraq file.
The meeting discussed several important topics, most notably ways to develop consular cooperation between the two countries and facilitate procedures for granting entry visas to Iraqi citizens wishing to visit Switzerland. This will contribute to strengthening communication and exchange of visits between the two friendly peoples.
For her part, Ambassador Jenni affirmed her country’s readiness to cooperate and coordinate with the Iraqi Embassy to overcome obstacles and facilitate procedures, serving the common interests of both countries.
