The Minister of Interior meets with the Swiss Assistant Secretary of State for the Middle East and North Africa and her accompanying delegation.

Minister of Interior Abdul Amir Al-Shammari met in his office on Tuesday with Ms. Monika Schmitz-Kyrgos, Assistant Secretary of State for the Middle East and North Africa, in the presence of the Swiss Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Daniel Hohn.
During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance security cooperation between Iraq and Switzerland and exchanged views on developing joint coordination mechanisms.
The Minister emphasized the importance of openness to friendly countries to exchange expertise and develop security work, and the ministry’s readiness to activate bilateral security cooperation between the two countries.
For her part, Ms. Kyrgos expressed her country’s desire to strengthen relations with Iraq on security-related issues, stressing Switzerland’s keenness to continue coordination and expand cooperation to serve common interests.
