وزير الخارجية يترأس وفد العراق في أعمال الدورة الـ(166) لمجلس جامعة الدول العربية

ترأس وزير الخارجية، السيد فؤاد حسين، يوم الاثنين الموافق 7 أيلول 2026، وفد جمهورية العراق المشارك في أعمال الدورة العادية الـ(166) لمجلس جامعة الدول العربية على المستوى الوزاري، التي عُقدت في العاصمة المصرية القاهرة.

وسبق انعقاد الاجتماع مشاركة وزير الخارجية في اجتماع اللجنة الوزارية المعنية بفلسطين، فضلاً عن مشاركته في الاجتماع التشاوري لوزراء الخارجية العرب.

وأكد وزير الخارجية، خلال الاجتماع التشاوري، أن الصراع القائم بين طهران وواشنطن يلقي بظلاله على دول المنطقة والاقتصاد العالمي، مشيراً إلى أهمية فتح قنوات للحوار بين الأطراف المعنية والتوصل إلى حلول سلمية تسهم في تجنب مزيد من التداعيات والأزمات المالية والاقتصادية.

كما أكد وزير الخارجية، خلال اجتماع اللجنة الوزارية المعنية بفلسطين، موقف العراق الواضح والثابت من القضية الفلسطينية، والمتمثل في دعم الشعب الفلسطيني وحقه في تقرير مصيره.

وجدد وزير الخارجية بكلمته في أعمال الدورة العادية الـ(166) لمجلس الجامعة موقف العراق الداعي إلى احترام سيادة الدول وسلامة أراضيها، ورفض الحرب وتوسيع نطاق الصراعات، مشدداً على ضرورة تغليب الحوار والوسائل السياسية والدبلوماسية لخفض التصعيد وتحقيق الأمن والاستقرار في المنطقة.

وأشار وزير الخارجية إلى حرص العراق، بصفته رئيساً للدورة الحالية للقمة العربية، على تعزيز التضامن والتوافق العربي وتوحيد المواقف إزاء التحديات التي تواجه المنطقة، بما يسهم في دعم العمل العربي المشترك وتحقيق مصالح الدول والشعوب العربية.

FM Heads Iraqi Delegation at 166th Session of the Council of the League of Arab States

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq, H.E. Mr. Fuad Hussein, headed, on Monday, 7 September 2026, the delegation of the Republic of Iraq participating in the 166th Ordinary Session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level, held in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.

Prior to the meeting, H.E. the Foreign Minister participated in the meeting of the Ministerial Committee concerned with Palestine, as well as in the consultative meeting of Arab Foreign Ministers.

During the consultative meeting, H.E. the Foreign Minister affirmed that the ongoing conflict between Tehran and Washington is casting a shadow over the countries of the region and the global economy, stressing the importance of opening channels of dialogue between the parties concerned and reaching peaceful solutions that would help avoid further repercussions and financial and economic crises.

During the meeting of the Ministerial Committee concerned with Palestine, H.E. the Foreign Minister also affirmed Iraq’s clear and steadfast position on the Palestinian cause, represented by supporting the Palestinian people and their right to self-determination.

In his address to the 166th Ordinary Session of the Council, H.E. the Foreign Minister described renewed Iraq’s position calling for respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states, and rejecting war and the expansion of conflicts, stressing the need to give priority to dialogue and political and diplomatic means to reduce tensions and achieve security and stability in the region.

H.E. the Foreign Minister pointed to Iraq’s keenness, in its capacity as Chair of the current session of the Arab Summit, to strengthen Arab solidarity and consensus and unify positions on the challenges facing the region, in a manner that contributes to supporting joint Arab action and achieving the interests of Arab states and peoples.
