وزير الخارجية يستقبل نائب وزير الخارجية السعودي على هامش اجتماع مجلس جامعة الدول العربية

استقبل وزير الخارجية، السيد فؤاد حسين، يوم الاثنين الموافق 7 أيلول 2026، نائب وزير خارجية المملكة العربية السعودية الشقيقة، السيد وليد الخريجي، في مقر الأمانة العامة لجامعة الدول العربية بالقاهرة، وذلك على هامش أعمال الدورة العادية الـ(166) لمجلس جامعة الدول العربية على المستوى الوزاري.

وجرى خلال اللقاء بحث العلاقات الثنائية بين جمهورية العراق والمملكة العربية السعودية، وسبل تعزيز التعاون المشترك بما يخدم المصالح المتبادلة للشعبين الشقيقين.

كما ناقش الجانبان التوترات والتحديات التي تشهدها المنطقة وانعكاساتها على أمن واستقرار دولها، فضلاً عن تأثيراتها السلبية في الأوضاع الاقتصادية وحركة التجارة والاستثمار، وما تفرضه من تحديات إضافية أمام جهود التنمية والاستقرار الإقليمي.

وأشار السيد فؤاد حسين إلى حجم التحديات الكبيرة التي تواجه المنطقة في المرحلة الراهنة، مؤكداً أن استمرار التوتر والتصعيد لا يخدم مصالح شعوب المنطقة، ويؤدي إلى مزيد من التداعيات السياسية والاقتصادية والأمنية.

وشدد السيد وزير الخارجية على أهمية اعتماد الحوار والدبلوماسية سبيلاً لمعالجة الأزمات والخلافات، والعمل المشترك على خفض التوتر وتجنب اتساع دائرة الصراعات، بما يسهم في تعزيز الأمن والاستقرار وتحقيق المصالح المشتركة لشعوب المنطقة.

FM Fuad Hussein Receives Saudi Deputy FM on Sidelines of Arab League Council Meeting

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq, H.E. Mr. Fuad Hussein, received, on Monday, 7 September 2026, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, H.E. Mr. Waleed Al-Khuraiji, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo, on the sidelines of the 166th Ordinary Session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations between the Republic of Iraq and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and ways to enhance joint cooperation in a manner that serves the mutual interests of the two brotherly peoples.

The two sides also discussed the tensions and challenges facing the region and their repercussions on the security and stability of its countries, as well as their negative impact on economic conditions and the movement of trade and investment, and the additional challenges they pose to efforts aimed at achieving development and regional stability.

H.E. Mr. Fuad Hussein highlighted the scale of the major challenges facing the region at the present stage, affirming that the continuation of tensions and escalation does not serve the interests of the peoples of the region and leads to further political, economic, and security repercussions.

H.E. the Foreign Minister stressed the importance of adopting dialogue and diplomacy as a means of addressing crises and differences, and of working jointly to reduce tensions and prevent the conflicts from expanding, in a manner that contributes to enhancing security and stability and achieving the common interests of the peoples of the region.
