وزير الخارجية يبحث مع الأمين العام لجامعة الدول العربية تداعيات التوتر الإقليمي على الدول العربية

التقى وزير الخارجية، السيد فؤاد حسين، يوم الاثنين الموافق 7 أيلول 2026، الأمين العام لجامعة الدول العربية، السيد نبيل فهمي، في مقر الأمانة العامة للجامعة بالقاهرة، وذلك على هامش أعمال الدورة العادية الـ(166) لمجلس جامعة الدول العربية على المستوى الوزاري.

وفي مستهل اللقاء، قدم السيد الوزير تهانيه إلى الأمين العام بمناسبة تسنمه مهامه، متمنياً له التوفيق والنجاح في أداء مسؤولياته الجديدة، بما يسهم في تعزيز دور جامعة الدول العربية في مواجهة التحديات التي تشهدها المنطقة.

وجرى خلال اللقاء بحث سبل تعزيز التعاون والتنسيق في إطار جامعة الدول العربية، إلى جانب مناقشة التطورات الراهنة في المنطقة والتوتر القائم بين طهران وواشنطن، وانعكاسات التصعيد على أمن واستقرار المنطقة.

كما تناول اللقاء التداعيات المحتملة لاضطراب حركة الملاحة في مضيق هرمز وتأثيراتها في اقتصادات الدول العربية، ولا سيما العراق، في ضوء الأهمية الاستراتيجية للمضيق بالنسبة إلى حركة التجارة العالمية وإمدادات الطاقة.

وأكد السيد فؤاد حسين أهمية فتح قنوات للحوار والتواصل بين الأطراف المعنية، والعمل على تهيئة الظروف الملائمة للتوصل إلى تفاهمات تسهم في خفض التوتر ومنع اتساع دائرة الصراع، مشيراً إلى الحاجة الماسة إلى وجود قنوات اتصال وحلقة وصل تساعد على تقريب وجهات النظر ودعم المسارات الدبلوماسية.

وأشار السيد الوزير إلى إمكانية اضطلاع جامعة الدول العربية بدور إيجابي في هذا السياق، من خلال توظيف علاقاتها واتصالاتها ودعم الجهود الرامية إلى تعزيز الحوار وتحقيق الاستقرار في المنطقة.

من جهته، أكد الأمين العام لجامعة الدول العربية أهمية اعتماد الدبلوماسية الهادئة والحوار في معالجة الأزمات، معرباً عن انفتاحه واستعداده للقيام بدور إيجابي يسهم في دعم جهود خفض التوتر وتعزيز الأمن والاستقرار الإقليمي.

FM Discusses Regional Tensions and Their Repercussions for Arab Countries with Arab League Secretary-General

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq, H.E. Mr. Fuad Hussein, met, on Monday, 7 September 2026, with the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, H.E. Mr. Nabil Fahmy, at the headquarters of the League’s General Secretariat in Cairo, on the sidelines of the 166th Ordinary Session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level.

At the outset of the meeting, H.E. the Minister extended his congratulations to the Secretary-General on assuming his duties, wishing him success in carrying out his new responsibilities in a manner that contributes to strengthening the role of the League of Arab States in addressing the challenges facing the region.

The meeting discussed ways to enhance cooperation and coordination within the framework of the League of Arab States, as well as the current developments in the region, the ongoing tensions between Tehran and Washington, and the repercussions of the escalation on the security and stability of the region.

The meeting also addressed the potential repercussions of disruptions to navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and their impact on the economies of Arab countries, particularly Iraq, in light of the strategic importance of the Strait to global trade and energy supplies.

H.E. Mr. Fuad Hussein stressed the importance of opening channels of dialogue and communication between the parties concerned and working to create conducive conditions for reaching understandings that contribute to reducing tensions and preventing the conflict from expanding. H.E. pointed to the pressing need for communication channels and a mechanism that could help bridge differences, bring positions closer, and support diplomatic efforts.

H.E. the Minister also pointed to the possibility of the League of Arab States playing a positive role in this context by leveraging its relations and communications and supporting efforts aimed at promoting dialogue and achieving stability in the region.

For his part, H.E. the League of Arab States Secretary-General affirmed the importance of adopting calm diplomacy and dialogue in addressing crises, expressing his openness and readiness to play a positive role that contributes to supporting efforts to reduce tensions and enhance regional security and stability.

The meeting was attended, on the Iraqi side, by the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Arab Republic of Egypt and Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, H.E. Dr. Qahtan Taha Khalaf, and the Head of the Arab Department, H.E. Ambassador Osama Mahdi Ghanem.
