وزير الخارجية يلتقي نظيره المصري ويبحثان تعزيز التعاون الثنائي وتطورات الأوضاع الإقليمية

التقى وزير الخارجية، السيد فؤاد حسين، يوم الاثنين الموافق 7 أيلول 2026، وزير الخارجية والهجرة وشؤون المصريين بالخارج في جمهورية مصر العربية الشقيقة، الدكتور بدر عبد العاطي، وذلك على هامش أعمال الدورة العادية الـ(166) لمجلس جامعة الدول العربية على المستوى الوزاري، المنعقدة في العاصمة القاهرة.
وجرى خلال اللقاء بحث سبل تعزيز العلاقات الثنائية بين العراق ومصر، ومناقشة الترتيبات الجارية للزيارة المرتقبة لرئيس مجلس الوزراء إلى جمهورية مصر العربية، وإمكانية استثمار هذه الزيارة لعقد قمة ثلاثية تجمع العراق ومصر والأردن، عقب انعقاد القمة الثنائية العراقية–المصرية.
وأكد الجانبان أهمية عقد اجتماعات اللجنة المشتركة بين البلدين الشقيقين بالتزامن مع زيارة السيد رئيس مجلس الوزراء، بما يسهم في تعزيز أطر التعاون المشترك ومتابعة تنفيذ ما تم الاتفاق عليه بين الجانبين.
كما شدد الوزيران على ضرورة مواصلة العمل لتحقيق المكاسب المشتركة، ولا سيما في مجال مشاريع الربط الكهربائي، وتحديد المشاريع القابلة للتنفيذ وفق أولويات واضحة، بما يضمن تحقيق نتائج عملية تخدم المصالح المشتركة للبلدين.
وتناول اللقاء أيضاً موضوع تسهيل منح سمات الدخول بين البلدين، بما يسهم في تعزيز حركة المواطنين ورجال الأعمال وتطوير مجالات التعاون الاقتصادي والتجاري والسياحي.
وفي جانب آخر، بحث الوزيران التوترات المتصاعدة في المنطقة وانعكاساتها السلبية على دولها وشعوبها، ولا سيما تأثيرها في حركة الملاحة والتجارة والاقتصاد الإقليمي. وأكد السيد فؤاد حسين أن استمرار الأوضاع الراهنة والتصعيد في المنطقة ستكون له تداعيات سلبية واسعة على اقتصادات دول المنطقة واستقرارها.
وشدد الجانبان على أهمية تغليب لغة الحوار والدبلوماسية، والعمل على معالجة الخلافات عبر الوسائل السلمية، بما يفضي إلى نتائج إيجابية تسهم في خفض التوتر وترسيخ الأمن والاستقرار الإقليميين، وتجنيب المنطقة المزيد من الأزمات والصراعات.
حضر اللقاء عن الجانب العراقي سفير جمهورية العراق لدى جمهورية مصر العربية والمندوب الدائم لدى جامعة الدول العربية، الدكتور قحطان طه خلف، ورئيس الدائرة العربية، السفير أسامة مهدي غانم.
FM Meets Egyptian Counterpart and Discusses Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation and Regional Developments
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq, H.E. Mr. Fuad Hussein, met, on Monday, 7 September 2026, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Expatriates of the Arab Republic of Egypt, H.E. Dr. Badr Abdelatty, on the sidelines of the 166th Ordinary Session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level, being held in the capital, Cairo.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations between Iraq and Egypt, as well as the ongoing arrangements for the anticipated visit of H.E. the Prime Minister to the Arab Republic of Egypt and the possibility of taking advantage of this visit to hold a trilateral summit bringing together Iraq, Egypt, and Jordan, following the convening of the Iraqi-Egyptian bilateral summit.
The two sides stressed the importance of holding meetings of the Joint Committee between the two brotherly countries in conjunction with H.E. the Prime Minister’s visit, in a manner that contributes to strengthening frameworks for joint cooperation and following up on the implementation of what was agreed upon between the two sides.
The two ministers also stressed the need to continue working towards achieving mutual gains, particularly in the field of electricity interconnection projects, and identifying feasible projects according to clear priorities, in a manner that ensures practical outcomes that serve the mutual interests of the two countries.
The meeting also addressed facilitating the issuance of entry visas between the two countries, which would contribute to facilitating the movement of citizens and businesspeople and developing areas of economic, trade, and tourism cooperation.
On another front, the two ministers discussed the escalating tensions in the region and their negative repercussions on its countries and peoples, particularly their impact on navigation, trade, and the regional economy. H.E. Mr. Fuad Hussein affirmed that the continuation of the current situation and escalation in the region would have wide-ranging negative repercussions on the economies and stability of the countries of the region.
The two sides stressed the importance of giving priority to dialogue and diplomacy and working to address differences through peaceful means, in a manner that leads to positive outcomes, contributes to reducing tensions and consolidating regional security and stability, and spares the region further crises and conflicts.
The meeting was attended, on the Iraqi side, by the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Arab Republic of Egypt and Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, H.E. Dr. Qahtan Taha Khalaf, and the Head of the Arab Department, H.E. Ambassador Osama Mahdi Ghanem.
