التقى نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الخارجية، السيد فؤاد حسين، يوم السبت الموافق 12 نيسان 2025، الأمين العام لمؤتمر التفاعل وتدابير بناء الثقة في آسيا (CICA)، السيد خيرت ساريباي. وجرى خلال اللقاء بحث سبل تعزيز التعاون في مجالات الرقمنة وتطوير البنى التحتية للمواصلات، بما ينسجم مع أهداف المؤتمر الرامية إلى ترسيخ الثقة وتعزيز الشراكة بين الدول الآسيوية.

وأشار السيد ساريباي إلى أن القمة المقبلة للمؤتمر ستُعقد في أذربيجان عام 2026، وستسبقها اجتماعات وزارية على هامش أعمال الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة، مشيدًا بالتزام العراق في تسديد مستحقاته المالية تجاه المؤتمر، ومثمّنًا دوره الفاعل في مناقشة القضايا المشتركة.

من جانبه، شدد السيد فؤاد حسين على أهمية تعزيز الاستقرار الإقليمي بوصفه ركيزة أساسية لتحقيق التنمية المستدامة، مؤكداً أن العراق يُعد من الدول المحورية في جهود مكافحة الإرهاب، مما يسهم في تهيئة بيئة آمنة تدعم التعاون الاقتصادي والأمني بين الدول الأعضاء.

كما تم خلال اللقاء مناقشة سبل تعزيز التعاون في إطار (CICA)، بما يخدم المصالح المشتركة للدول الأعضاء، ويُسهم في تعزيز التكامل في مجالات التكنولوجيا والبنى التحتية، انسجاماً مع رؤية المؤتمر لتحقيق التنمية والازدهار في القارة الآسيوية.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Meets with The Secretary-General of the Conference on Cooperation and Confidence-Building in Asia (CICA)

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Fuad Hussein met with the Secretary-General of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building in Asia (CICA), Kairat Sarıbay on Saturday, April 12, 2025. During the meeting, they discussed the ways for enhancing the cooperation in the areas of digitalization and transportation infrastructure development, in line with the conference’s objectives of strengthening the trust and enhancing the partnerships among Asian countries.

Mr. Sarıbay indicated that the next CICA summit will be held in Azerbaijan in 2026, preceded by ministerial meetings on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly. He praised the Iraq’s commitment to paying its financial dues to the conference and appreciated its active role in discussing the common issues.

For his part, Mr. Fuad Hussein stressed the significance of enhancing the regional stability as it is a fundamental pillar for achieving the sustainable development. He emphasized that Iraq is a pivotal country in counterterrorism efforts, which contributes in creating a secure environment that supports the economic and security cooperation among the member states.

The meeting also discussed the ways for enhancing the cooperation within the framework of CICA, serving the common interests of member states and contributing to enhanced integration in the fields of technology and infrastructure, in line with the conference’s vision of achieving development and prosperity across the Asian continent.
