التقى نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الخارجية، السيد فؤاد حسين، يوم الثلاثاء الموافق 21 كانون الثاني 2025، نائب رئيس مجلس القيادة الرئاسي اليمني، السيد عيدروس الزبيدي، على هامش أعمال المنتدى الاقتصادي العالمي في دافوس.
جرى خلال اللقاء بحث العلاقات الثنائية بين العراق واليمن، وسبل تعزيز التعاون المشترك في المجالات السياسية والاقتصادية. كما ناقش الجانبان الجهود المبذولة لحل الأزمة اليمنية، بالنظر إلى تأثيراتها المباشرة وغير المباشرة على أمن واستقرار المنطقة.
وتطرق اللقاء إلى مستجدات الأوضاع الإقليمية، بما في ذلك تطورات الأزمة السورية، حيث أكد الطرفان أهمية تضافر الجهود الدولية والإقليمية لإيجاد حلول مستدامة تسهم في تحقيق الاستقرار والسلام في المنطقة.
وأعرب السيد فؤاد حسين عن اعتزازه بالعلاقات التاريخية التي تربط البلدين، مؤكداً استعداد العراق لتقديم الدعم في إطار الجهود الدولية لإنهاء الصراع في اليمن، وتحقيق التنمية والاستقرار للشعب اليمني. من جانبه، أشاد السيد عيدروس الزبيدي بمواقف العراق ودوره الفاعل في تعزيز الأمن الإقليمي وجهوده لدعم السلام في المنطقة.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Meets Vice President of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council on the Sidelines of Davos Economic Forum
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein met with the Vice President of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council Mr. Aidarus Al-Zubaidi, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, on 21 January 2025. During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations between Iraq and Yemen, and ways to enhance joint cooperation in the political and economic areas. As well they discussed the efforts exerted to resolve the Yemeni crisis, given its direct and indirect effects on the security and stability of the region.
The meeting touched on the latest regional developments including the Syrian crisis, as the two sides stressed the importance of combining international and regional efforts to find sustainable solutions that contribute to achieving stability and peace in the region.
Minister Hussein expressed his pride in the historical relations between the two countries, underlined Iraq’s readiness to provide support within the framework of international efforts to end the conflict in Yemen, and achieve development and stability for the Yemeni people.
On his part, Mr. Aidarus Al-Zubaidi, commended Iraq’s stances and its effective role in enhancing regional security and its efforts in supporting peace in the region.
