نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء ووزير الخارجية يلتقي نائب وزير الخارجية الأمريكي في الرياض لبحث التطورات في سوريا

التقى نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء ووزير الخارجية، السيد فؤاد حسين، يوم الأحد الموافق 12 كانون الثاني 2025، بنائب وزير الخارجية الأمريكي، جون باس، وذلك على هامش الاجتماع الوزاري المنعقد في الرياض بالمملكة العربية السعودية بشأن سوريا.
جرى خلال اللقاء بحث العلاقات الثنائية بين العراق والولايات المتحدة، وسبل تعزيزها بما يخدم المصالح المشتركة للبلدين. كما تم تبادل وجهات النظر حول التطورات السياسية في سوريا، مع التأكيد على أهمية متابعة هذه التطورات واستمرار التنسيق بين الجانبين لتهيئة الظروف المناسبة للبدء بعملية سياسية شاملة في سوريا تحقق تطلعات الشعب السوري وتسهم في استقرار المنطقة.
وفي إطار المناقشات، أكد الجانبان على ضرورة توحيد الجهود والرؤى لمواجهة الخطر المستمر لتنظيم داعش، مشددين على أهمية التصدي المشترك لهذا التهديد لضمان أمن واستقرار المنطقة.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Meets U.S. Under Secretary of State in Riyadh to Discuss Developments in Syria
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein met with U.S. Under Secretary of State Mr. John Bass on the sidelines of the Riyadh meeting on Syria, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 12 January 2025.
During the meeting they discussed the bilateral relations between Iraq and the United States, and ways to enhance them to serve the common interests of the two countries. As well they exchange views on political developments in Syria, underlining the need to follow up on these developments and continue coordination between both sides to create the right conditions for starting a comprehensive political process in Syria that fulfills the aspirations of the Syrian people and contributes to the stability of the region.
During the discussions both sides stressed the need to unify efforts and visions to confront the ongoing threat of Da’esh, underlining the importance of jointly addressing this threat to ensure the security and stability of the region.
