Ambassador meets the representative of Gazprom Neft Company

On July 18, 2019, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Russian Federation, H.E. Haidar Mansour Hadi, met Mr. Vyacheslav Nikonorov, Head of the International relation department of Gazprom Neft Company, to discuss the bilateral cooperation in the oil field.

During the meeting, Ambassador stressed on Iraq’s keenness to develop relations with the Russian Federation in all fields and provide support to Russian companies working in Iraq, including Gazprom Neft, pointing out to the importance of increasing Russian investments in the field of energy to serve the interests of the two friendly countries and noting that the embassy will support all Russian companies wishing to work in Iraq by facilitating all necessary measures. H.E. explained that the victories achieved by the Iraqi security forces have made the country lives in stable security and this is a suitable environment for investment in Iraq, and added that one of the priorities of the embassy is urging Russian companies to work in Iraq and coordinate with the Iraqi concerned authorities to build bridges of direct communication with their Russian counterparts.

For his part, Mr. Nikonorov thanked the Iraqi embassy in Russia for its continuous support to Russian companies, especially GazpromNeft, adding that the company is looking to increase its oil investments in Iraq in the field of energy.
